چکیده
The tectono-magmatic history of the Lüchun-Jinping microblock and its possible affinity with Yangtze Craton are important elements for reconstruction Cenozoic plate tectonics in southeastern Tibet. In order to constrain decipher pre-Cenozoic paleopositon microblock, we focused on petrogenesis Eocene-Oligocene lamprophyres microblock. yield zircon UPb ages 34.7–33.3 Ma exhibit potassic-ultrapotassic features elevated K2O/Na2O (1.4–4.0) ratios. They characterized by high concentrations compatible (e.g., Cr = 187–692 ppm, Ni 31–218 ppm), large-ion-lithophile light rare-earth enrichment, high-field-strength depletion, radiogenic isotopic values, i.e. (87Sr/86Sr)i 0.7063–0.7078 ?Nd(t) ?3.9 ?2.4. Combined low Nb/U ratios, these suggest that lithospheric mantle source was metasomatized subduction-related fluids beneath relatively Rb/Sr ratios heavy element contents indicate were derived from partial melting a phlogopite-bearing lherzolite within spinel stability field. parental magmas have experienced fractional crystallization olivine clinopyroxene during emplacement. Comprehensive comparisons between mafic rocks western can be regarded as dismembered part due continental extrusion sinistral displacement. compositional trends palaeogeographic position near Dali area (west Binchuan) close Jinshajiang suture zone before Cenozoic.

Six brachiopod species, i.e., Discradisca sp., Cryptopora sp., Pliothyrina sp. cf. The Cape Roberts Project was successfully completed in the austral spring of 1999 with drilling of the 939.42-m CRP-3 drillhole, located 2-km west of the CRP-2/2A drillhole. The CRP-3 core comprises a 790-m Cenozoic (glacio-) marine sequence separated from underlying Devonian basement rocks by a c. 30-mthick dolerite conglomerate of undetermined age. Here, we present the results of a palaeomagn...
متن کاملGEOLOGICAL NOTES Regional Paleoprecipitation Records from the Late Eocene and Oligocene of North America
The marine dO record indicates precipitous cooling or significant expansion of Antarctic ice volume across the Eocene-Oligocene epoch boundary at 33.7 Ma. This climatic step is also found in estimates of decreased paleoprecipitation from paleosols in Oregon, Montana, and Nebraska but is only a part of a long-term decline across the Eocene-Oligocene transition rather than a sudden shift. This su...
متن کاملTerrestrial cooling in Northern Europe during the eocene-oligocene transition.
Geochemical and modeling studies suggest that the transition from the "greenhouse" state of the Late Eocene to the "icehouse" conditions of the Oligocene 34-33.5 Ma was triggered by a reduction of atmospheric pCO2 that enabled the rapid buildup of a permanent ice sheet on the Antarctic continent. Marine records show that the drop in pCO2 during this interval was accompanied by a significant dec...
